The ARC+ at Port Louis Marina Manager’s Party Leaves No One High and Dry!

One social event that all ARC+ participants look forward to after their arrival into Grenada is the Marina Manager’s Party held by Zara Tremlett and her team at Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina.

Having sailed over 2,100 nautical miles from Mindelo, Cape Verde, crews representing 30 nations were eager to kick back and celebrate a night of fun with their fellow sailors. Drinks flowed, music pulsed, and with big smiles, laughter, and plenty of dancing to the DJ’s beats at the ARC+ Rally Village in Port Louis, it was time to p-a-r-t-y!"

ARC+ Event Manager Andrew Pickersgill commented;

“The ARC+ Marina Manager’s Party is a legendary event, and this is the fifth year that the rally has been here in Grenada. It’s safe to say that ARC+ now has its own unique identity away from the ARC, and being here at Port Louis Marina gives us a fantastic home in the Caribbean.

“Over the last nine days, but more so the last five, we’ve had 83 arrivals out of a fleet of 84, and they have all been docked, moved and checked in by the wonderful Port Louis Marina team. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Zara’s (Tremlett) team, the dock masters, the security staff, the team in the admin office, the maintenance guys, for all they have done to make the ARC+ participants welcome and their entrance into Grenada so much easier than it might be otherwise.

“Thank you very much indeed, Zara and your team for your hard work and thank you for giving us this ability to start the fleet’s cruising season at the southern end of the Windward Islands.”

Zara Tremlett General Manager at Port Louis Marina commented;

Marina Manager Zara Tremlett was pleased to see so many of the ARC+ crews enjoying themselves after their long passage. “Thank you everybody for turning up tonight and for getting to Grenada safely. Well done. Woohoo!

“The ARC+ is an amazing collaboration – as always – between the World Cruising Club, Grenada Tourism Authority, our team here at Port Louis Marina – Camper & Nicholson’s Marina, and of course you guys – the sailors. Well done. Without you none of us would be here celebrating tonight.

“You should be very proud of your achievements. There are a few of you out there that had a pretty rough time and I really take my hat off to you. A big ‘thank you’ to all my team – the cleaners, the maintenance, the groundsmen, everybody. Also, to our neighbours here at the Merveilles Entertainment Hub, for shutting down their work so that we can hear what we’re doing.”

“Particular thanks go out to Cate and Deacon who come every year with their boat to Port Louis to support the arrival of the rally. Also, to Joe and Sara who were amazing volunteer helpers with the docking. I’m so grateful to them. It shows you what a fun group you are, so let the party begin, and well done everybody and thank you.”

The Positive Impact Fund

During 2025, World Cruising Club set up the Positive Impact Fund, a UK registered charity which aims to raise money and make donations in the destinations visited by World Cruising Club events. Across the destinations and over time, donations will be made to support communities in the areas of development of young people, healthcare, animal welfare and social improvement.

This year, in recognition of the 40th edition of the ARC, World Cruising Club will make a donation of nearly £10,000 to the fund. Here on the island, the trustees have decided to award a minimum of:

  • 1,750 USD to the L’Esterre, the Carriacou Junior Sailing project for basic sailing equipment and possible 2 new (second hand laser) boats in the future.
  • And 1,000 USD Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to help fund improvements to the infrastructure at the homing centre.
  • And in addition, 2,000 USD to Umanzia the humanitarian charity in the Cape Verde, helping the local populations with flood relief projects.

If you would like to contribute the Positive Impact Fund, please visit worldcruising.com/positive-impact-fund.

We are privileged to do what we do, to experience the best bits of the world and it’s a great opportunity to give back to the communities we visit.
